First Place - BMW 325i SE, Plate 1989 (M Tech Version) - Probably the best car BMW have ever produced. The E30 is now still a must to drive & own in my book. I am forever looking to own another one. Mine was an auto, but my god it shifted, and that sport button was scary. You would hit the button and be instantly forced into your seat as you accelerated. 0 - 60 was done in 6 seconds. It would accelerate all the way to 140+ mph, and still feel there was more. I used to rev it at the lights and it would rock from side to side. I loved travelling through terraced streets as the noise was phenomenal and spine tingling as its sound bounced of the buildings. The car had eveything you get on new cars knowadays, ABS, Heated seats, computer, etc. To look at it looked standard, apart from the M tech badge and the custom twin pipes out the back. I would recomend this car to anyone, but an excellent well looked after example is a must otherwise it could be expensive.
Second Place - Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec, Plate 2001 - I had this car from 3 year old. It only had 18k on the clock and was immaculate throughout. It was an excellent car to drive and the feel on the road was fantastic. It has been raved as one of the best cars Ford have ever produced and I agree. It was silver with the Zetec alloys. I added black 18" 5 spoke alloys that just added to it's look, unfortunatley I had to trade it in for one of my latest cars, the Mondeo when we had a second child as we needed boot space, feels like the worst thing I have ever done. Although the Mondeo is good car to drive.
Third Place - Vauxhall Vectra SRI 2.5 V6, Plate 98 - This one is another monster of power. It was an ex Metropolitan Police Car. It was an auto, with a scary sport button. In a straight line it was scary as you would drive upto 70mph with no drama or feel of any power then alls of a sudden the engine note would change and it would take off and keep going, very weired feeling to accelarate from 70 to 130+ mph quicker than you hit 70. Going round corners was where it let itself down, the back end would feel light and bouncy, so speed was a no no in that regard, even with traction control on. Just sold it recently having had it off the road for a while. It was loud and the engine would sound fantastic as the V6 burbled away, probably one of the best sounding cars I have heard.
Well there are my three, I would love to add an R34 GTR to that list one day.
