As your all well aware, because I keep ranting about it lol my internet connection has been lowsy as of late and has ruined my enjoyment of thrashing you lot online Big Grin .

I spoke to a Virgin Media Customer Service Adviser regarding the above issue, who advised me to try a BT I-Plate after informing me that he himself uses the same piece of equipment and it has greatly improved his internet connection and online gaming (all be it with the XBOX 360) . He told me that after fitting the BT I-Plate his internet speeds were significantl faster and he very rarely lost connection or dropped out of XBOX Live whilst gaming.

Here is a LINK! to this supposidly £7 wonder gadget. Now I can't see how realistically something so cheap and cheerfull can help improve connection issues.

Has anybody else heard about this or even use one, if so then let us know thumbsup .

Basically what it does is bypasses the old bell wire in the phone line that used to be used for the ringer on the old home phones. It is said that the bell wire causes noise and interference on the line which contributes towards causing connection issues.

And I was so looking forward to another sandcastle masterclass Big Grin

I've seen them in houses and flats I've worked in. And most of them are using either a PS3 or Xbox. But never used one myself Craig.

Right, after being on hold to Virgin Media for well over 30 minutes I finally got through. The customer service rep talked me through the basic settings for my Router, and for now.....i'm connected Woohoo . So we'll see how the PSN connection holds out.

I also quizzed him on what my expected internet speed should be after checking it on Speedtest.net. Before I quizzed him on my speed my Laptop was at 3.5 meg and my PS3 was less than 1 meg. He said I should be expected to get about 6 meg which is pretty impressive. After I told him my results from the speed test, he was like "hold on let me look into that for you" and voila after a couple of minutes I re-checked my internet speeds and they had both increased by about 1.5 meg Cool .

So i'll see how it goes now.

I might also just order one of those I-Plate just for the hell of it Big Grin .
